The Night Sky

There is so much happening in space nowadays - and all this activity is only set to increase. Not only are there the new missions to the planets Mercury and Pluto, but there's the ongoing study of Mars and the Moon in preparation for space travellers to visit and possibly settle on these worlds.

There's as good as a new space race going on. However, unlike the 1960's, many more nations are now taking part and there is much cooperation going on to achieve these goals.

There is a pull-downy thing here with links to news sites so you can keep up-to-date with what's going on:

Then there is space tourism with zero-G flights for you and I starting very soon and the continuing sudy of the Universe to find new planets and to understand why the whole thing works the way it does.

Will we find life on distant planets? Is there life on Mars or under the icy surface or Jupiter's Moon Europa? Are we alone? Was the Universe made for us? Are there other Universes? We may find the answers to some of these questions, but others may (and possibly should remain a mystery - I like mysteries just because they exist).
